Dr. Jessalyn Shen is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurology at NYU Langone Health, where she specializes in Headache Medicine. She completed her undergraduate and medical education through the Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program, now CUNY School of Medicine, before completing her neurology residency at Montefiore Medical Center where she served as Chief Resident for Wellness and founded and led the Women in Neurology group. She subsequently completed fellowship training in Headache Medicine at Mayo Clinic.
Her clinical practice focuses on developing individualized treatment strategies for patients living with headache and facial pain disorders, while her broader work centers on raising awareness of the burden of these conditions and improving the patient experience.
A dedicated advocate for the headache community, Dr. Shen serves on both the Advocacy Committee and Communications Committee of the American Headache Society. She has participated in numerous Headache on the Hills and previously served on the Headache on the Hill Planning Committee, engaging directly in efforts to advance policies that improve access to care for individuals living with headache disorders.
Through her clinical, academic, and advocacy work, Dr. Shen is committed to expanding education and awareness, strengthening the headache community, and amplifying the voices of patients and families affected by headache disorders.
