Flags for Headache: A National Call to Action
In June 2025, over 30,000 flags were planted on the National Mall to represent the millions of Americans living with disabling headache diseases and the urgent need for change. This historic installation brought national visibility to conditions like migraine and cluster headache, combining public art, personal storytelling, and policy advocacy to make invisible pain impossible to ignore.
The project was featured in TV, radio, and digital media with an estimated reach of over 5 million people. Thousands visited the installation in person, scanned on-site QR codes, and joined in nationwide events, including local flag displays, landmark lightings, and more than 50 state and local proclamations recognizing Migraine and Headache Awareness Month.
What’s Next: 2026 Installation Returns
The Flag Installation will return to the National Mall June 13–28, 2026. Building on the momentum of 2025, we’re expanding in several key ways:
- Community Resource Fair: An in-person event at the Mall featuring wellness tools, education, and advocacy resources.
- Local Activation: Support for home and community-based flag displays across the country.
- Global Solidarity: Coordination with international partners for parallel awareness campaigns.

Event Highlights
